bound : unbound are delighted to be taking part in the first year of the Art Walk Porty Artist Bookmaker’s Market<\/a>, alongside some really inspiring and talented makers. You can visit Lynda Wilson and our fabulous guest artist Christine Sloman<\/a> at the Dalriada on Portobello Promenade on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, 12 noon – 6pm each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine Sloman | Bio<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine studied paper conservation and book binding at the London College of Printing (UAL), and then worked in the conservation studios of the British Library for 10 years. However, she has always made art alongside her conservation and book binding work, and developed a love of printmaking in her years at the LCP. She has been a member of Edinburgh Printmakers since 2013, where she has been developing her printmaking practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making artist\u2019s books has been an extension of the printmaking and book binding and she has greatly enjoyed finding ways of combining the two. It has broadened and brought new impetus to her art work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of Christine\u2019s practice revolves around themes of loss and ephemerality and the distortions of memory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
